The Drive Casa Difference

Wednesday, June 5th, 2019

What are Buy-Here-Pay-Here Car lots, like Drive Casa, and how are they different than traditional dealerships? The answer is actually pretty straightforward! Buy-here-pay-here car lots (BHPH) are dealers that offer in-house financing, rather than going through a bank loan like traditional dealerships do. Continue reading to learn what the other differences are and how a Buy-Here-Pay-Here like Drive Casa can be the perfect choice for you!

What is a Buy-Here-Pay-Here Dealership?

Buy-Here-Pay-Here car lots like Drive Casa offer in-house financing instead of relying on bank lenders. This allows us to offer car loans to people who have less than stellar credit, or no credit at all.

BHPH Dealerships vs. Traditional Dealerships

There are a few differences between a BHPH dealership and a traditional one.

As mentioned above, Buy-Here-Pay-Here dealerships can work with people who have very little credit, or are going through bankruptcy. We offer an opportunity for people who may have a difficult time finding a loan through a traditional auto lender. However, just like traditional dealerships, Buy-Here-Pay-Here dealerships offer great deals on pre-owned vehicles for people with good credit, too.

Strict Laws & Regulations

Buy- Here-Pay-Here dealerships, like all car dealerships, must abide by the law. The difference is, Buy-Here-Pay-Here lots have to abide by stricter laws since they are also effectively an in-house finance company.

Buy-Here-Pay-Here dealerships must follow the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), which requires financiers to disclose the final sale price, the total amount financed, as well as any other important information for the consumer relating to financing. Other laws and regulations Buy-Here-Pay-Here’s are subject to are the Fair & Accurate Credit Transaction Act, State Usury laws, and the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

The Financing Process

The Buy-Here-Pay-Here financing process is simple as well! When you buy a car from a BHPH dealer like Drive Casa, the entire transaction takes place on the premises. We arrange everything at the dealership, and your car is bought and financed here. Your loan payments can be set up for weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payment plan. We do this so buyers like yourself can match car payment dates with your job’s payday to ensure payments are made on time. As long as you make your payments on time, every time, your credit score will improve overtime.

We are a proud buy-here-pay-here establishment at Drive Casa. We strive to help the hardworking people in our surrounding communities find great quality cars, no matter what their credit history is! To apply online, please click here!  browse our inventory, please click here!

5 Signs You Need to Buy Another Vehicle

Friday, March 1st, 2019

Is it time for you to purchase another vehicle? Continue reading to find out! If any of the below apply to you, then it’s probably time to go car shopping!

Your Trips to the Auto Repair Shop Are More Expensive

You always take your car in for regular oil changes and maintenance, but now you notice those trips are getting more expensive. At around 120,000 miles, cars begin to show their age by needing new timing belts or water pumps, among many other potentially expensive repairs. Putting that money into a good used car might make better sense than spending $1,000 each time you drive to the repair shop.

You Doubt the Reliability of Your Car

When you get in your car and pray you make it each time you head to a destination, it’s a sign that it’s time for another car. You’ll save yourself some stress when you know you have reliable transportation.

You Are More Safety Conscious

If you’re driving a car that is old and has minimal safety features, it may be time to upgrade. Modern safety equipment on cars include driver, passenger, and side airbags, as well as anti-lock brakes and traction control. Upgrading to a newer car is one way to keep you and your family safe on the road.

Your Finances Change

That SUV you bought when you were making six figures may be tough to afford once your finances have changed. This has been the case for many Americans in the past few years. Until you get back on your feet, trade it in for something that better suits your new budget. Stop making those high car payments and keep some of it for those essentials you need to cover right now.

You Need to Build Up Credit

If you have had difficulty with your credit, such as a bankruptcy or late payments, then buying a used car can help. Used car dealerships, especially  Buy Here Pay Here dealerships like ours, specialize in helping people with credit problems. We can help you finance a great quality vehicle when other dealerships will turn you down because of your credit. As long as you pay your car payment on time each and every month, your credit will build overtime!

If you’ve experienced any of these scenarios with your current car, it’s time to start looking for a different one. Browse our inventory today or contact us for more information!

Gift a Car for Christmas!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018

In just one week, it will be Christmas! Think of that special someone in your life that deserves the world. You might not be able to get them a mansion or yacht, but you can still give them a gift that they will remember and appreciate for the rest of their lives…. Yes we are talking about a car! We know what you’re thinking, “A car for Christmas?! That’s crazy!”, but actually it doesn’t have to be a huge, crazily expensive ordeal. Check out some of these reasons why buying a car for a gift is a good idea!

Not As Expensive As You Think

Buying a car is certainly not a cheap gift, but it doesn’t have to break the bank either. Instead of looking at the most expensive models, choose a used model. It won’t cost near as much as a brand new vehicle! Here at Drive Casa, we have great quality vehicles for very affordable prices! Don’t have any credit or have bad credit? We will still finance you!

Less Pressure

Literally anyone would be happy to get a car as a gift regardless of the style. But if you are still trying to find the “perfect” gift, take them shopping instead. You could trick them and ask them to help you look for a car, or announce on Christmas morning that you plan to take them to the dealership later in the week to pick out their own car.

Less Crowded

If you were to attempt to go into a mall or any department store in the next month,  you’d find lines that trail on forever. Since not everyone is going to buy loved ones a car for Christmas, you won’t have to deal with the hassle of crowds! This may seem like a small benefit, but can save you a lot of frustration and time wasted in the long run!

We completely understand that giving a car for Christmas is not for everyone. But if you have the means to do so, and you have an incredibly special person in your life, it might be the perfect gift! Christmas will be here soon, and getting someone a car will certainly amp up the spirit of giving! To browse our inventory today, just visit our website!

Cars That Will Last Longer than 15 Years

Friday, December 7th, 2018

If you have ever financed a car, you know that there is an immense amount of freedom when you pay it off. Unfortunately, not every vehicle lasts much longer than the pay off date- not every vehicle can go the distance. If you’re looking into purchasing a car soon and plan on keeping it a long time, check out this awesome survey from Iseecars.com that breaks down the most popular cars that owners tend to keep for over 15 years.

To get this data, Iseecars.com observed and analyzed over 650,000 used cars from 1981-2002, sold between January through November 2017. For each model, the number of cars sold by the original owner was expressed as a percentage of the total number of cars sold. “Original-owner” cars were bought as new by the owner. The models were then ranked by the original-owner percentage.

As you can see, Toyota pretty much dominates the list with Honda and Acura in close pursuit. This is really not that surprising, as all brands focus on building quality, and efficient cars for an affordable price. Another thing that can be seen from this list is that almost all brands are made by Japanese manufactures- minus the VW Golf. There are no U.S. brands here, though of course some of these models are made in America.

The next time you’re car shopping, remember brand new doesn’t mean everything. If you buy a great quality car pre loved, then you’ll be saving money in the long run! Here at Drive Casa, we have almost all the models listed above in our inventory right now! Most are only a couple years old!  So what are you waiting for? Click here to search our inventory!

5 Misconceptions about Buy Here Pay Here Dealerships

Saturday, December 1st, 2018

Buying a car is a very big decision to make. So, before purchasing a car, there are some things you have to consider, such as finances or payment plans. Although there is a certain way that Buy Here Pay Here dealers function, there are also some very common misconceptions about them as well. Busting these myths will help you see the advantages of a dealership like Drive Casa has to offer! Continue reading to learn 5 misconceptions about Buy Here Pay Here dealerships!

1. BHPH dealerships are not regulated

Many people think Buy Here Pay Here is an unregulated industry. However, BHPH dealers can only operate with significant laws and regulations binded to them. The regulations that BHPH dealers have to deal with are both on the federal and state level. This is very similar to traditional dealerships. BHPH dealers actually help you by protecting you on several aspects; they ensure operational ethics and quality of a consumer’s purchase, amongst many others.

2. BHPH charge sky high interest rates

Finance and lending generally institutes higher interest rates to those with bad credit. The BHPH industry isn’t the only industry that does this. Think of it like the bank; however, unlike banks, BHPH dealers do not charge sky high interest rates. Some believe that they will be charged 30 percent APR or higher by BHPH dealers. Contrary to this belief, most BHPH dealers usually only charge 10 or 20 percent APR. Of course this number depends on factors, but it focuses primarily on the purchaser’s financial  ability.

3. Banks do not charge late fees but BHPH lots do

Although many people think that BHPH lots or dealers will impose additional charges as well as repossessions for late payments, this is actually very far from the truth. While some BHPH dealerships do implement rules similar to this, it is not entirely true for all BHPH dealers. In fact, BHPH dealers do charge late fees, but they are significantly smaller compared to other lending companies. In this case, the bank.

4. There is no guaranteed warranty

Many people think that Buy Here Pay Here vehicles do not have warranties. This makes potential buyers afraid to purchase cars at BHPH dealerships since they will not have protection. However, at Drive Casa, we do offer free oil changes as well as offer as a warranty on all of our vehicles!

5. Inventory shortages and issues causes repossession

The goal of many Buy Here Pay Here dealerships is to help each customer reach the end of their loan and get everything paid off. Furthermore, here at Drive Casa, we understand that working with a customer is more important than getting vehicles repossessed as quickly as possible. Although repossession does happen, it doesn’t happen to every deal made. It is actually the last option the dealer has to make and is usually done due to multiple failed payments. Many believe that their cars get repossessed because BHPH dealerships do not have a lot of cars in their inventory. However, as discussed, it is not the case.

As you can see, Buy Here Pay Here dealerships like Drive Casa are respectable establishments. Our main mission at Drive Casa is to help those in the community that don’t have the best credit (or any credit at all) find a vehicle that fits their lifestyle needs. Three Top Rated Used Car Brands

Tuesday, November 6th, 2018

Here at Drive Casa, we only choose the best quality cars for our inventory. This being said, some vehicle brands prove to be the best rated year after year in terms of reliability and affordability. Continue reading to learn what they are!

Toyota

This automaker is one that continues to impress year after year. In terms of reliability, while still earning above average satisfaction for on-road tests. When shoppers think of a vehicle that can easily last a decade, Toyota is the first to come to mind.

Honda

Though its reliability has somewhat declined in recent years, or rivals have simply improved dramatically, used Honda models continue to hold a strong reputation as the vehicle that just won’t let you down.

Kia

You may have noticed that there are more and more Kia vehicles on the road, and you might just think that’s because they are affordable. In recent years, Kia has made giant leaps to outrank big names like Honda, while also providing better overall satisfaction. A decade ago, Kia didn’t have the best brand reputation, and you might want to steer clear if you’re considering a much older model. We’ve been seeing the brand rise in ranks since 2014, though, so it’s certainly one to watch if you’re looking for a vehicle just a few years old.

At Drive Casa, we have plenty of Toyota’s, Honda’s and Kias; but we also have many other brands! To browse our inventory, please visit our website.
