Gift a Car for Christmas!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018

In just one week, it will be Christmas! Think of that special someone in your life that deserves the world. You might not be able to get them a mansion or yacht, but you can still give them a gift that they will remember and appreciate for the rest of their lives…. Yes we are talking about a car! We know what you’re thinking, “A car for Christmas?! That’s crazy!”, but actually it doesn’t have to be a huge, crazily expensive ordeal. Check out some of these reasons why buying a car for a gift is a good idea!

Not As Expensive As You Think

Buying a car is certainly not a cheap gift, but it doesn’t have to break the bank either. Instead of looking at the most expensive models, choose a used model. It won’t cost near as much as a brand new vehicle! Here at Drive Casa, we have great quality vehicles for very affordable prices! Don’t have any credit or have bad credit? We will still finance you!

Less Pressure

Literally anyone would be happy to get a car as a gift regardless of the style. But if you are still trying to find the “perfect” gift, take them shopping instead. You could trick them and ask them to help you look for a car, or announce on Christmas morning that you plan to take them to the dealership later in the week to pick out their own car.

Less Crowded

If you were to attempt to go into a mall or any department store in the next month,  you’d find lines that trail on forever. Since not everyone is going to buy loved ones a car for Christmas, you won’t have to deal with the hassle of crowds! This may seem like a small benefit, but can save you a lot of frustration and time wasted in the long run!

We completely understand that giving a car for Christmas is not for everyone. But if you have the means to do so, and you have an incredibly special person in your life, it might be the perfect gift! Christmas will be here soon, and getting someone a car will certainly amp up the spirit of giving! To browse our inventory today, just visit our website!

1. BHPH dealerships are not regulated

Many people think Buy Here Pay Here is an unregulated industry. However, BHPH dealers can only operate with significant laws and regulations binded to them. The regulations that BHPH dealers have to deal with are both on the federal and state level. This is very similar to traditional dealerships. BHPH dealers actually help you by protecting you on several aspects; they ensure operational ethics and quality of a consumer’s purchase, amongst many others.

2. BHPH charge sky high interest rates

Finance and lending generally institutes higher interest rates to those with bad credit. The BHPH industry isn’t the only industry that does this. Think of it like the bank; however, unlike banks, BHPH dealers do not charge sky high interest rates. Some believe that they will be charged 30 percent APR or higher by BHPH dealers. Contrary to this belief, most BHPH dealers usually only charge 10 or 20 percent APR. Of course this number depends on factors, but it focuses primarily on the purchaser’s financial  ability.

3. Banks do not charge late fees but BHPH lots do

Although many people think that BHPH lots or dealers will impose additional charges as well as repossessions for late payments, this is actually very far from the truth. While some BHPH dealerships do implement rules similar to this, it is not entirely true for all BHPH dealers. In fact, BHPH dealers do charge late fees, but they are significantly smaller compared to other lending companies. In this case, the bank.

4. There is no guaranteed warranty

Many people think that Buy Here Pay Here vehicles do not have warranties. This makes potential buyers afraid to purchase cars at BHPH dealerships since they will not have protection. However, at Drive Casa, we do offer free oil changes as well as offer as a warranty on all of our vehicles!

5. Inventory shortages and issues causes repossession

The goal of many Buy Here Pay Here dealerships is to help each customer reach the end of their loan and get everything paid off. Furthermore, here at Drive Casa, we understand that working with a customer is more important than getting vehicles repossessed as quickly as possible. Although repossession does happen, it doesn’t happen to every deal made. It is actually the last option the dealer has to make and is usually done due to multiple failed payments. Many believe that their cars get repossessed because BHPH dealerships do not have a lot of cars in their inventory. However, as discussed, it is not the case.

As you can see, Buy Here Pay Here dealerships like Drive Casa are respectable establishments. Our main mission at Drive Casa is to help those in the community that don’t have the best credit (or any credit at all) find a vehicle that fits their lifestyle needs. Five Fall Car Care Tips

Monday, October 22nd, 2018

October signals the start of Fall but it’s also National Car Care Month!  Now is an excellent time to start planning for driving in rain and other possible conditions. Continue reading to learn five quick maintenance tips that will get your car ready for any weather!

 Tire To Do’s

Check tire pressure, including the spare. Tires can lose one pound of pressure for every drop of 10-degrees Fahrenheit so it’s important to follow the pressure outlined in the owner’s manual for your vehicle. You should also inspect tires for bulges and bald spots.

Make the Switch to Winter Tires

Did you know that once the temperature drops below 45-degrees Fahrenheit, an all-season tire’s ability to grip the road decreases? It’s a fact. Severe weather presents a new set of driving challenges – slush, ice and hard-packed snow – and with it, the need to make the switch to winter tires.

Double Check Those Brakes

Fall is an ideal time to have your brake system checked. Brakes are necessary to vehicle safety and extremely important when driving on slippery roads. A full inspection should include brake linings, rotors and drums.

Charge Your Battery

Check your battery connections to make sure they are tight, clean and free of corrosion. Cold weather can be hard on batteries so you’ll want to check your battery and charging system. If you’re battery is more than three years old, you may want to replace it since there are no warning signs for a failing battery.

Heater, Defrosters and Wiper Blades

Don’t be left in the cold this winter. Make sure your heating, ventilating and air conditioning system is working properly. In addition to your comfort, it’s important this system is in working order to help with defrosting. This is also a good time to check your air filters to make sure they are clear of debris. Lastly, take a look at those wiper blades. There’s nothing worse than a smeared windshield due to a cracked or torn wiper blade. As a general rule, these should be replaced every six months.

Pumpkin Carving Tips

Friday, October 19th, 2018

Want to wow your neighbors and family with the perfect pumpkin? We have your back! Continue reading to learn how to carve a pumpkin like a pro!

Choose Your Pumpkin Wisely

Most of us shop for the roundest and smoothest pumpkin. Don’t be afraid to get one that’s more visually interesting or even misshaped—as long as it doesn’t have any soft spots. If you have a pattern in mind that you want to carve, bring it with you. That way you can find the pumpkin that suits the shape of the pattern you’re going to carve.

Use Household Tools

No need to buy a pumpkin carving kit, just use household items! For detailed work, you can use paring knives or some precision razor blades. Lemon zesters are also great for varying textures on your pumpkin and melon ballers are useful for hollowing out a pumpkin or to create scooped-out balls that can later be pinned onto a pumpkin as eyes. Scrubber sponges are also optimal for smoothing out the surface of the pumpkin!

Do Not Cut the Top Open

Don’t cut your pumpkin open from the stem, it makes it much harder to clean out! Instead, cut your pumpkin open from the bottom. When you pull the plug out, half the seeds and other gunk will automatically come out- which makes it much easier to clean.

Clean Thoroughly

Scrape the walls of your pumpkin with a big metal spoon until they are an inch thick. How can you tell when you’ve scraped enough? Tape your template onto the pumpkin from the start and add thumbtacks all around the pattern. That way when you’re scraping down the inside, you can feel exactly when the thickness is right.

Practice Patience

As you carve, do not pull pieces out while you go. This will preserve the stability of the pumpkin and keep it from breaking. Once you are finished carving completely, reach into the inside and gently poke the pieces out of the pumpkin. This will allow the pieces to come out way easier!

We hope these ideas have your creative juices flowing! We would love to see your own spooktacular pumpkins, so please share them in the comments below!

5 Reasons You Need to Buy a Used Car

Wednesday, April 18th, 2018
why-buy-used-car

Did you know that buying a used car is one of the best choices you can make as a buyer? A shiny, new car can be alluring, but if you want to make a smart purchase when looking for your next car, think about the advantages a used car can have. Below are some of the most attractive reasons to buy a used car:

Money

New cars depreciate fast. As soon as you sign the paperwork and drive off into the sunset, that car is no longer new and it’s losing value. On average, you can spend $13,500 less when buying a used car. This means you can have a nicer used model for the same price of a new car. Registration and insurance are also much more affordable with a used car, putting more money in your pocket.

Variety

Do you remember a model that you fell in love with, but are just not made anymore? Used cars give you the chance to buy a model that may have been discontinued or that has features no longer available in the newer models. Having the ability to choose from multiple models from different years can widen your choices and help you find the car that is just perfect for you.

Customization

When you own a used car, it’s easier to add extra features that will make it truly yours. You can add that new stereo, a bike rack, and fancy new rims without having to pay for dealership add-ons.  This is a great way to spend the money you saved when buying a used car.

Better for the Environment

Trying to stay as green as possible when purchasing a car? The best thing to do to reduce your carbon footprint is to keep the car you have as long as you can. However, if your current car is on its last legs, the best thing to do is to buy a used car. A quarter of the carbon dioxide a vehicle produces during its life-cycle happens during manufacturing and initial shipment, which means that buying new cars is more harmful to the environment. Be good to the planet. Buy a used car.

Warranties

Many used cars may still be under their original warranty. However, if the car you want is no longer under the manufacturer’s warranty, you may still get an extended or limited warranty from a dealership. For a few more dollars, you can be assured that trained professionals will be able to repair your car with quality parts and excellent service.

Overall, buying a used car is one of the best choices you can make, especially if you are a first-time car-buyer.

If you’re in the market for a used car, don’t forget to stop by Drive Casa. Our high-quality vehicles come with limited warranties, multiple-point inspection, and much more. Stop by and enjoy our hassle-free process!

Helpful Car Buying Checklist for Used Cars

Wednesday, April 4th, 2018

If you’re trying to save extra money, consider purchasing a used car. You can find high quality used cars that will last you for years at a fraction of the cost of a new car. Buying a car is an important decision, and preparedness can pay off in the long run. Knowing what car you want and figuring out a budget will make your car buying experience much easier. Follow the car buying checklist for used cars below and enjoy a hassle-free car buying experience.

Do Your Research

Before visiting a lot, think about what kind of car you’d like to get. Ask yourself what features you’d like in a car. What gas mileage are you looking for? Do you prefer cars with sunroofs? How much space do you need? Once you have narrowed down your choices to a few models that can satisfy your needs, find out what is the approximate value for each model and if there have there are any problems you might anticipate with each model. Having a good idea of what you want before visiting a lot will help you feel less overwhelmed by all the choices available.

Inspect the Car

You’re at a used car dealership and a particular model has caught your eye. Before a test drive, take time to inspect the car. Walk around the vehicle and check for any damage to the car. Do you see any scratches, discoloration, peeling paint, or dents? What is the condition of the tires? Once you have inspected the exterior, take time to look at the interior of the car. What does the interior smell like? Are the seats in good condition? Can you see any stains? If you’re satisfied with the look of the car, it’s time to look under the hood. Feel the hoses around the radiator, air conditioner, and other components. Are there any holes or cracks? Ask about where you can check the fluids. This quick inspection will give you peace of mind when driving off the lot. Most dealerships will take time to make the car look and perform at its best, but it’s best to make sure there aren’t any damages, issues or smells that will need to be taken care of after the sale.

Test Drive

You’re in love with the look of the car, but want to know how it drives. A test drive will give you a very good idea of what it would be like driving that car every day. Before you turn on the car, take time to get a feel for the space inside the car, adjust your mirrors, and check your blind spots. Once you’re on the road, listen for any odd sounds coming from the engine. Try getting on a highway and gauge acceleration and handling. You’ll also notice how the brakes are performing and if they need to be replaced soon. Brake hard on a city street to really test out the brakes. You can even practice parking for maneuverability and sight lines.

Financing

Now that you are sure the car you have selected is perfect for you, it’s time to go over financing. As mentioned earlier, you should have a good idea of the price of the car, what your down payment is going to be, and what payments are right for your budget before you visit the lot. This will make financing easier to figure out. Buy Here Pay Here dealerships, like Drive Casa, have the convenience of offering in-house financing, so you don’t have to worry about asking different lenders for a loan. Once you have reached an agreement and signed the paperwork, you can take your car home!

Are you ready to buy a used car? You can find high-quality models that have gone through multiple-point inspection at amazing prices in our lot. Stop by Drive Casa and let us drive you happy!
